Orthoplex Zinc Status 100mL
Othoplex zinc status is a simple but effective tally for zinc deficiency
Patient is to hold 10mL of the solution in their mouth for 10 seconds. Evaluate the patient’s taste
response as outlined below.
1. No specific taste or other sensation is noticed, after the solution has been kept in the mouth for 10 seconds = Low zinc status
2. No immediate taste is noted but after a few seconds a slight taste is noted – often described as “sweet”,“mineral tasting”, “dry” or “furry” = Moderate zinc status
3. A definite, though not strongly unpleasant
taste is noted almost immediately and tends
to intensify with time = Adequate zinc status
4. A strong unpleasant taste is noted immediately = Optimal zinc status
contains: Zinc sulphate septahydrate 6mg in water (equiv. zinc 1.35mg)
Free from allergens, colours, flavours and preservatives
Storage:
Once opened, store in refrigerator
for up to 12 months.
